In Germany, The ROGG-IN offers a unique experience not only providing loads of interesting information surrounding the cultivation, preparation and the significance of Rye but also offering corresponding sensual experiences. Through interactive participation, both young and old alike can appreciate rye, our local gold, in various different and exciting ways, culminating in a visit to our adjoining rye garden which proffers an oasis of calm and relaxation.
Since the beginning of 2014, the ROGG-in has enriched the cultural landscape of the Fichtel mountains. Measuring 300m2 inside and with 1300m2 of outside space, everything there is to know about rye and the culture surrounding its production and significance is represented in this permanent exhibition. It enables visitors to take a moment, breathe deeply and re-discover the old-fashioned values of simplicity, humility, reflection and patience.
Professor ROGG-In accompanies and assists you as you playfully wonder through themed sections such as ‘the dangers of half-knowledge’, ‘local gold’, ‘the poetry of craftmanship’ and ‘healthy with grain’.
The journey through the ROGG-IN begins by testing your familiarity with Rye and thereafter answering any questions you might have. The important nutritional significance of rye and the way in which the precious components of the grain are carefully preserved are also illustrated in the exhibition. Come and enjoy a relaxing journey of discovery, suitable for children and adults.
